My cat came back after being gone for almost three months, then he disappeared again. I think he has a new family.

Half-life 2.

Does anyone know the amount of time that has passed between Half-Life and Half-Life 2? I looked on different sites and they all have different numbers. I read that it was either 10, 15, or 20 years. I'm not sure if I missed something in the game or not.

I'm trying to start a livejournal community about fan fiction and I think I could use some help. Although, I don't know exactly what I need help with, so I was wondering if someone could, like, check it out and tell me if there are any obvious problems that I have overlooked. Here it is: [info]fanfic_finder

Thanks.

when it struck me?

I was listening to The Postal Service just now when I heard that lyric.  I never really noticed it before.  Am I the only one that thought it meant they were struck by the cross-town train?

It was the first line of the song "Clark Gable".

I can't wait to try this. It'll be my first attempt and it sounds like incredible amounts of fun.

Pushing Daisies (I love Ned!)

I'm going to stay so far from this fandom but not because I hate the show or something. I don't hate it, in fact, I love this show. It may be my new favorite and it's only like 4 episodes in. I'm staying away because I don't want any ridiculous fan fiction or fan art ruining this show. That sounds stupid, I know, but too much bad fan fiction about a show I like can make me lose in interest really fast. I also don't want to see all the dumb fan fiction authors ignoring everything in canon for their stupid stories.

What?

I've been seeing this a lot lately, people on the internet misspelling series as serie. Like series is the plural of serie. Is this just a weird typo that a lot of people are coincidently making recently or do they really think that's a real word? I find it to be quite confusing.

2. Kino (Kino's Journey)
3. Il Palazzo (Excel Saga)
4. Excel (Excel Saga)
5. Maggie Mui (R.O.D the TV)

10. Osaka (Azumanga Daioh)

I told someone about an idea I had for fan fiction and I think she stole my idea. After I sent her the message she didn't answer it. Which is completely weird, by the way. I sent her another message and she still hasn't answered it. I actually don't really mind that she did, I would just like to know what she did with the idea. I thought it was a great idea for a story, I had all these characters and details in my head that would've been perfect. Now, I'm just wondering how badly is she going to mess this story up.

How did you spend summers when you were a kid?

When I was a kid I used to spend my summer at home and at my grandparents' homes. I would just chill out all day and not do anything. I would ride my bike around the neighborhood, go swimming at my grandpa's house, or just sit outside.

When my dad got  a break from work, we would all get in to the family car and drive to Traverse City to visit my grandma. We would stay there for a week or two, going to the beach almost everyday. In July there was the annual city wide Cherry Festival, we would sometimes go to that, if my dad felt like going, that is. Every year the Blue Angels would fly overhead, I thought the noise they made was both annoying and exciting. I used to think of what it would be like to fly in one of those planes. There are fireworks every year, we could see them from a park near the edge of the city. We would go to see those sometimes, I don't think we'll see them this year. By the time I decided that I was starting to miss my home and my bed, my dad would decide that we needed to go home. We would all pile in to the car and drive the 5 hours it took to get back to our house. It's not that I don't love my grandma and being at her house, it's just that you can only spend so much time away from home and not get a little homesick. We still go to our grandma's house every summer, even though I'm not exactly a kid anymore.

Tomorrow I am going to my grandma's house. She lives in Traverse City. I will be there until monday.

I don't really use my livejournal all that much. I use my myotaku page way more. If I didn't have that site I would use this one more. I just don't see the point of posting in two journals because I say everything that I need to on myotaku.com. I also find that it is easier to make friends on that site. Now I just sound like an advertisement. I don't really mean to. I just never really know what to do on this site. There have been other journals that I tried to post to, but myotaku has always been my favorite. It's harder to make friends on the other sites. Myotaku does have some drawbacks, though. When I post on that site, everyone can read it. I don't think there is a way to limit who gets to read the posts, there are no friend-locks.
